COSMETIC DENTISTRY

SMILE, LAUGH........ AND EVEN ROAR !
The desire to feel good and look good with a perfect set of pearly teeth, have designated cosmetic dentists as the latest dream merchants. And ‘smile designing’ is their new ware. Earlier a good smile was seen as a prerogative of an actress or a model. Today, even common people want to have a beaming smile. So we see an executive, a receptionist, a public relation officer, a teenager or even a housewife, who otherwise have no problem with their teeth or gums, making a beeline to acquire that killing smile. Expressive eyes and a pleasant smile are always a winning combination in building better relationships, be it personal or professional. Today, we can enhance the ‘face value’ by remodeling deformities in teeth

SMILE ADVICE
1st Decide what kind of smile you are looking for. We usually break it down into two styles, a natural smile or a pageant smile. A natural smile is white, but not overly white. It fits in with your face and goes along with your skin tone. A pageant smile, while still looking natural, is very white. It really stands out and gets people to notice you. It is one of your prominent features, but again, does not look unnatural. Both types are correct. It comes done to what you want. The dentist will actually recreate your smile on the computer using both styles so you can have a better idea of which one you would prefer.

2nd How many teeth you show in your smile? This depends on how big you smile. Some people only show their top teeth while some people also show their bottom teeth. Also notice how many teeth show. Most people show at least ten teeth on the top and eight on the bottom. Also notice your teeth when you are talking and laughing. You may show more teeth than you think. Also look in the mirror from the sides. When people are talking to you, they are not always directly in front of you.

3rd Consider how much time you have. If you are planning on enhancing your smile for a particular occasion such as a pageant, wedding, reunion, etc., plan on having your smile enhanced early.

DESIGN YOUR SMILE
One of the first things people notice is your smile. If chipped, stained, or crooked teeth are "hiding" the real you, it's time for a smile make over. A beautiful smile can brighten your life every day, professionally and socially. And unlike plastic surgery, cosmetic dentistry isn't a major operation.

There are many ways we can give you a youthful, attractive, natural looking smile!

Teeth whitening
1, Brighten teeth that have lost their sparkle.

2, Treat discolored, stained or aging teeth with whitening process. A dazzling smile isn't just for celebrities any more. It's for you, because you're worth it

3, Cover problem teeth with ultra-thin porcelain veneers. Think of this treatment as a manicure for your smile. Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are custom fitted over your natural teeth. Veneers can change the shape, color and length of your teeth in only two visits. It looks so good you'll wonder why you waited so long.

4, Ditch ill-fitting dentures with new ones that are even more natural, functional and comfortable.

5, Dentures can also be replaced or relined to correct problems with aging jaws so you can chew without discomfort again.

6, Porcelain Crowns. When the size of a "filling" exceeds a certain proportion of the tooth; it must be replaced with a "cap," also called a"crown." Use of porcelain crowns look very natural and don't have a  dark metal line. Porcelain crowns reflect light with a natural healthy glow.

7, Go natural with dental implants. Implants are bridges that are permanently anchored into the jaw. Because there is always a perfect fit, dental implants are almost the same as having your natural teeth back again. To qualify for implants, you'll need healthy oral tissues and jawbone ridges that are in good shape.

8, Dental bonding sculpts individual teeth with a special tooth-like material that looks, acts and feels like the real thing. Bonding is an affordable, quick and painless way to repair many cosmetic flaws or injuries.

9, Replace old crowns and bridges with metal-free restorations. There's a huge difference between metal fillings and porcelain restorations that reflect the translucence of natural teeth. Your new metal-free crowns, inlays and bridges won't show wear or cause opposing teeth to erode, and fitting the crown or bridge is a breeze.

QUIT SMOKING

Why Quitting Difficult ? Mark Twain said, "Quitting smoking is easy. I've done it a thousand times." Maybe you've tried to quit too. Why is quitting and staying quit hard for so many people? The answer is nicotine. Nicotine is a highly addictive drug found naturally in tobacco. When you smoke, nicotine is carried deep into the lungs, where it is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream and carried throughout the body. Nicotine produces pleasurable feelings that make the smoker want to smoke more. It also acts as a depressant by interfering with the flow of information between nerve cells. As the nervous system adapts to nicotine, smokers tend to increase the number of cigarettes they smoke, and hence the amount of nicotine in their blood. After a while, the smoker develops a tolerance to the drug, which leads to an increase in smoking over time. Over time, the body becomes physically and psychologically dependent on nicotine. It affects many parts of the body, includin...
