For centuries before beauty parlors, man has made cosmetics, using what was available locally and economically. Now, with the moves towards natural beauty and rising interest in herbals, the old wine is being served in new bottles.

Here are some products that you can make yourself. You can add a drop of perfume to improve the smell. Also some popular tips for beauty care are mentioned.


Beauty Tips

  • Almond milk is a good cleansing agent for oily skin. Apricot oil and buttermilk are also good cleansers. Apply with cotton wool or softly rub with fingertips to loosen dirt and wipe off.
  •  Add 1 teaspoon honey to 2 tablespoons warm milk and blend together to make a thin lotion. Rub over the face and neck with the fingertips. Rinse off. Honey Cleansers are good for any skin type.
  • 1 teaspoon honey is mixed in 2 teaspoons olive oil to prepare a olive oil cleanser. Mix together, apply to the face and neck with the fingertips. Wash off with a mild soap and water.
  • Fruits and vegetable mix can be cooled in a refrigerator and used as a natural moisturizer.
  • Exfoliate your skin at least twice a week if dry skin is your skin type if you have oily skin you can do it every day. Mix olive oil with salt and apply all over the body for proper exfoliation. Rinse off after ten minutes and apply a moisturizer before taking bath.
  • Dry brush your skin lightly before taking shower. This will help to stimulate the natural oil glands in your body.
  • Buttermilk, yogurt and milk cream are natural skin cleansers. Refrigerate and use for best results.
  • Rub almond oil into your skin for a moisturizing. Combined with a few drops of your coconut oil it will leave your skin smooth and supple.
  • Keep a spoon in the freezer and apply to eyelids for a few minutes to reduce redness.
  • Sharpen your eyeliners often to keep them clean. Before sharpening your eyeliner or lip pencil, place them in the freezer for 10 minutes. They will harden slightly and not break when sharpened.
  • Use a tinted brow definer or eye shadow to fill in scanty brows.
  • To avoid mascara flake-off or smudging on your face, apply a thin cost of mascara to top lashes only. Then run an eyelash brush through lashes to prevent clumpy mascara build-up.
  • Use liquid liner instead of regular pencil eyeliner, to prevent smudging in the crease of the lid.
  • Apply a lip balm to lips before starting your make-up routine. By the time you have done your eyes and rest of the face, your lips will be moisturized and ready for the matte lipstick.
  • Using a double-sided emery board to file nails. Wash and dry your hands and start filing using a gentle stroke. The most popular shape to use is oval, but choose what is most suited to your hand and finger shape.
  • After filing, rub in cuticle oil around the edges of the nail and moisturize your whole hand. It takes less than 15 minutes and will give your appearance a polished look.
  • Soak nails in warm water for a few minutes and then rub off old nail polish gently with a finger before polishing your nails.
  • The most common nail wreckers are harsh detergents and water, which can stress nail fibers. So put rubber gloves on while you clean or do dishes.
  • Avoid using perfume lotions that usually contain alcohol if your nails are brittle.
  • Apply a softener to your cuticles. Allow to site for a minute or so. Transfer hands to a bowl of warm water and soak for an additional few minutes.
  • Apply hand lotion massage the palm of your hand with the fingers of your other hand. This will help to circulate the blood.
  • Before color is applied to nails, they must be cleaned and the easiest way to do this is with orange peels.
  • For coloring nails, your brush should hold just enough color. The nail should be completely colored in three strokes. Allow to set for a minute or so before applying the second coat.
  • Hairstyles with blunt edges can make your face look much wider than it really is. Avoid styles or cuts that have any type of strong lines that will make your face look larger than it really is.
  • Pamper your tired feet with a luxurious footbath. Fill a basin with warm water and add a few drops of essential oils. Next place cobble stones. Run your toes and soles of your feet over the marbles, and relax for 15 minutes.
  • Legs will look longer and slimmer if you always closely match your hose to your shoes and skirts.
  • Clothes say more about you than you can imagine. Style is the way you put together clothes, not the clothes themselves. Wear what's right for your body type and don't be a slave to fashion.
